The purpose of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry (CPWM) is to accept and share the love and joy of Jesus Christ through the ministry of women in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. We seek to do this as we pray, study God’s Word, and reach out to others through mission, service, encouragement and fellowship opportunities.
Always keeping an eye out for the needs of our community, our CPWM enjoys finding ways to help those in need. We have made "Blessing Socks," filled with toiletries and necessary survival items for the homeless in the Clarksville area. We have held highly successful yard sales that have helped to further support local missions. We have filled several "slightly used" purses with feminine hygiene items, soaps, brushes, lotions, and other items for the homeless. We have collected quilting and sewing supplies for "CAM" (the Coalition of Appalachian Ministry) in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. Our CPWM gives money to Urban Ministries and Manna Café every month. Helping others is our mission, and fellowship is our joy.
The CPWM of New Providence CP Church is an active group of women who meet the first Tuesday of each month (at 11:00) for fellowship, devotionals, and to further its missional purposes. Following this gathering, the women go to a local restaurant for lunch.
All women of New Providence CP Church are included in the CPWM
and always invited to become
an active part of it.
The goal of our Children’s Ministry is to encourage, educate, and enjoy children at New Providence CP Church.
FALL FLING (held Oct. 26) featured many games and activities for children. Families enjoyed time together in our gym (while rain poured outside). It was fun time for our neighborhood to get together for fellowship without stress or commitment.
Earlier last year we held our first annual "Cupcake Sunday." The children decorated cupcakes while learning about Jesus. Then, following the worship service, we had a Cupcake Reception where we all joined the children and had a delightful time eating delicious (and colorful) cupcakes! We look forward to doing that again!
If you have a family and want a loving place to bring your children for worship, we encourage you to come to New Providence CP Church. Our children's church begins with a message to the children during worship, then the children leave the adults and have some fun time learning about the Bible, Jesus, Christian faith, and other topics of interest.
We are looking into other ways to involve children here at our church. If you have ideas, please click on the button below and share your thoughts with us. Unless you specify anonymity, we'll share your ideas with others here at the church.
We love it when people have ideas
that can build our church!
We are hopeful this ministry will
expand, grow, and flourish,
and with your help, it will.
Our denomination, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, through its Missions Ministry Team, uses a program of endorsement as its means to deploy missionaries. (An endorsed CP missionary has the seal of approval of the CP Church, having met our criteria to be a missionary. We endorse
both clergy and laypeople.)
Our global mission reaches throughout the world (Brazil, Cambodia, Colombia, France, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, South Korea, Spain, and various closed countries).
Endorsement is ongoing in that all participants mutually agree to fulfill certain expectations to the CP Church as CP missionaries. The Missions Ministry Team provides direct supervision of endorsed missionaries.
New Providence CP Church also supports the various CPC national missions.

We have recently completed a food drive to help Urban Ministries through the last quarter of 2019 and the start of 2020.
In January, we will collect items needed at New Providence Middle School for the students and teachers.
If you are interested in getting involved, let us know!
We'd love to have your help with any of our ministries. Thank you!
The women of New Providence CP Church put together "Blessing Socks" for Clarksville-area homeless. Athletic socks were filled with shampoo, soap, tissues, deodorant, lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb/brush, and possibly other grooming items -- all in an effort to keep our homeless healthy during the cold and often harsh winter months.
If you would like more information on this special ministry, please email the church at Elizabeth@newprovidencecpchurch.com.
We celebrated Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 2, with our own perspective of the big game: it was just "SOUPER".
Cans of soup were donated to help The Old Firehouse Shelter to feed the homeless in our community,
Thank you so much!
Our small church gave an abundance of needed school supplies to New Providence Middle School when the school opened in January after Christmas break. We are glad to serve our community!
